He worked for Iraq Geological Survey since 1969 in various geological fields; mainly geochemistry and economic geology and became General Director of the survey for the period 2005 – 2013. After retirement from Iraqi Government service he joined the Czech Geological Survey (Prague) as Scientific Researcher.
